Duties and Responsibilities of Keith County Sheriff's Office


 

The Keith County Sheriff's Office is Required by Law to Perform the Following Duties:

  • The Sheriff's Office covers 1,110 square miles, 797 miles of county roads, 120 miles of state highways and 42 miles of Federal Highway.

  • Handle calls and complaints at Lake McConaughy

  • Provide Police Services to Paxton and Brule, also serving the unincorporated towns of Sarben, Keystone, Lemoyne, and Roscoe.

  • Serve all Court Ordered Papers including Warrants, Body Attachments and other papers ordered by the Courts

  • Transport prisoners from anywhere they may be located, usually from surrounding states, escort them to court and provide court security for District and County Court

  • Do Out of State Title Inspections

  • VIN Inspections

  • Gun Permits

  • Maintain the Sex Offender Registry

  • Handle all County Sales, such as land and tax sales along with abandon vehicle sales, abandoned property

  • Distress Warrants for Personal Property Taxes
